Wool Eater Blanket progresss

I'm still working on the wool eater blanket, loving it. It is so pretty. So far the weather has been cool enough to continue. Even though there are about only 6 more stripes left, the rows are very long now and it take a few sittings to finish one so I'm not sure I will finish before hot weather sets in. This is how it looks so far.

Looking for another pattern to start after this is finished. I don't really know what I'm looking for, would help if I did, huh??? I want to do something different. Maybe it will be another afghan, again with several colors, maybe it will be another wool eater ... a baby one? There's also a small possiblity of a quilting project ... Cathedral Window. Of course these are in addition to all my UFO's!

Little Boy Blue - Sweater, Scarf & Hat

Certainly wrong time of year for this but enjoyed making this little sweater. Will pack away until next fall and when a baby boy comes along. Will post the pattern site when I find it again! I used Linda's Snowflake Potholder to make the scarf.

Another anniversary ...

This date, 12 years ago, a small group of people came together to pray for others and we're still together, minus one or two, plus one or two. It's a very special group of those who storm heaven for others.

It was formed on the 1st anniversay of the passing of a very dear friend of mine, actually it was formed in her honor and so today I remember her again. She loved the rainbow.
Coming into my house in the kitchen there hangs a heart shaped plaque which she gave me:

The Miracle of Friendship
There's a miracle of Friendship that dwells within the heart,
And you don't know how it happens or where it gets its start...
But the happiness it brings you always gives a special lift,
And you realize that Friendship
is God's most perfect gift.

Aquaintances, I have many, friends few and yes they are most perfect gifts. She taught me that.

Prayer of St. Francis
Francesco Bernadone of Assisi,
also known as St. Francis,
gave us a beautiful gift:
a recipe for miracles!

Lord, make me an instrument of your Peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, joy!
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Preach the gospel, if necessary, use words.
St. Francis of Assisi

Pretty Pink Pinafore

This little pinafore, newborn size, is so sweet. Did this in Bernat Baby soft, again pink. The pattern can be found here
Hmmm, think maybe I should start to give some equal time to blue? This is what happens when there are no girls in the family.
Need to add three pearl buttons on the back; looking through my books now for rose or flower or some kind of embellishment to make to adorn yoke.
Found an adorable bonnet pattern which I will most likely be starting next (yikes, another girlie project ... lol). Oh yes, almost forgot, did make some cute booties this weekend. They could have been for a boy but I did use a pinkie speckled yarn ...

Have started another project, actually almost done. Its a newborn pinafore and so, so cute. I'll post a picture when I have finished it. All these great patterns are helping to put a dent in my stash (maybe). Have quite a bit of yarn and thread... ok, more then quite a bit.

I have a mission ...

God has created me to do him some definite service; He has committed some work to me which he has not committed to another. I have my mission; I never may know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I have a part in a great work; I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good, I shall do His work; I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it, if I do but keep His commandments and serve Him in my calling. John Henry Cardinal Newman

Pretty Pinafore Dress

This is such a pretty dress, easy to make with size 3 thread. Now just have to make a slip (once I decide on the color) and add ribbon. The pattern can be found here: Free Pink Pinafore Babies Dress Crochet Pattern

Now to get back to the wool eater blanket (and half finished sweater)!
