Telling What I Enjoy

and linking up to Faith's Simple, Vintage and Crochet  for Monday's Do Tell What you Enjoy ...

*
I enjoy trying new recipes,
and truth be told, eating them!

I enjoy being silly.
It makes me feel like a kid again.
I really never want to grow up.
*
I enjoy laughter.
One of the best sounds in the world.
*
I enjoy the holidays.
The preparations and the anticipation.
*

So Do Tell,
 What DoYou Enjoy?

 See you at Faith's.

Another Crochet Along Finish

And its fabulous!  Pam of Holloway Family Adventures used 100% cotton Perle 8 mauve variegared thread that was made in Italy.  She got it when she lived there.  Doesn't it sound as good as it looks?  Such a sweet beauty.

Crochet Along Final Four Rows 17-20

The final rows are posted and ready whenever you are.  There's no rush, but I wanted to get these out here as I will be away most of the week.

My Valentine Angel (she used to be a Christmas Angel) ... don't ya love how versatile these can be ... has been patiently waiting for her season table cover and is quite happy now.

Looking forward to seeing the results.

Different Degrees of Progress

for the Crochet Along and oh so beautiful.  These are a few of the participants.  Just look at the colors and  the combo.  Aren't these magnificent.  I really do like this pattern and in each color I see I want one just like it.  The first is Alujala of  Aluajala's Cockroaches  Can't you just picture a vase of sunflowers?  Talk about bright and sunshine.

And the deep purple by Hookin It With Mr. Lick Lick.  She's going to edge this with pink.  Won't that be stunning!

Pammy Sue's of
Scotty's Place with this chocolate and ecru combo.  I've looked for the chocolate thread locally without success and now will have to look on line as I love this combo and have to have this!

And Pam of Holloway Family Adventures  I wasn't able to enlarge the picture but you can certainly see how gorgeous this is.  The thread is exquisite.

As for me ... I was almost done last night when I discovered a mistake ... blahhhh! ... so ripped out the last two rows and on a redo hopefully today.  I want to get the last four rows posted this weekend as I will be away for most of next week.

To a fabulous friday
of crocheting!

Thursday Thoughts

I'll lift you
and you lift me
and we'll both
ascend together.
-John Greenleaf Whittier

What's Doing Wednesday

Another early finish.  Charlotte at  Charlotte's Web posted her completed beauty yesterday.  Beautifully done Charlotte.  That's two completely done now.  I just love seeing the results and so happy that you had joined in.

As for here, the forecast here may have us homebound later today and tomorrow which means soup simmering on the stove, mugs of tea and crochet hook moving.

Hmmm, maybe we can get rid of some of the snow this way ... do you think we'll get any takers?

Have a good day.
Blessings.

Crochet Along - Rows 13-16

The next Crochet Along rows (13-16) have been added.   As you saw on the last post we have one doily completed and quite a few at different stages.  If you find any problems with what I have posted please let me know.

Off to cozy up with an afghan, hot cup of tea and my crochet hook.

Pleasant night to all.

Cold Snap and The Crochet Along

We are freezing!  Minus 8 degrees  with not much warming expected over the next few days.  I know, I know, its winter what do I expect?  A milder winter maybe.  I think I really have to consider moving south.

Look what is outside my upstairs bathroom window.   Don't remember ever having these like this before.

I am planning on posting the next few rows of the Crochet Along later today / this evening.   Rita, Gramma Rita's Crochet, Etc. finished the Rising Sun Doily a few days ago and it is magnificent.  Rita is a wonderful online friend and as you can see an amazing crocheter.  She just started her blog recently.  Hop on over and see what wonderful creations are unfolding.

Have a blessed day.

Friday Visitor

The snow finally stopped around 8:30 this morning and lo and behold look what popped out.  Its really a most magnificent site - the blue sky, bright sun, the white snow ...

The trees look like they are lit up with the sun shining on the ice.

This little guy stood still long enough to get his picture taken, Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal stopped by but everytime I get my camera they fly away.  Such wonders of nature, its truly beautiful.

Remind me I said that when the snow that is predicted for next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is falling and I'm moaning about it.  But I really do think we've had enough to last for this winter.
Afternoon crocheting is on the menu.  I'm trying to get ready for the next CAL rounds ... I did an oops and had to rip out several rounds but have almost recovered.

Hope your day is sunny.

Crochet Along Rows 9 - 12

Rows 9 to 12 are posted.  I changed to red on the 11th row.  I've seen such beautiful work done so far by everyone.  Thanks for the company, I am so enjoying this.  I tried to bring in the pictures to a post but for some reason I wasn't able to.  Hopefully on these rows when they're done I can.

Snow is still falling, the snow people are happy as larks ... me with the snow, not so much!

Keep warm and safe.

Morning Delay is a Tuesday Treasure

A day spent at home.  Much too miserable out and although it did warm a bit the ice is there and getting bad again with the temperature dropping.  But it was a nice thing.  Have been puttering ... straightening, cooking, crocheting.
Valentine's Day is not something we normally fuss over but some of the red from Christmas fits nicely and looks pretty.  Putting the reindeer away from my centerpiece and adding my little pillow keeps it around for another month.

Just added some red votives to my dollar store plates, I did pick up some little red dishes at Pier 1 marked down from Christmas for $1.98 and some $1 tulips from Michaels and everything else is an odd and end from here and there around the house.

This morning when visiting Sara at tangled happy I fell in love with the jar cozies she showcased in her last two posts.  She finds such amazing things, you really need to visit and check her out!  So needless to say after lunch got out my cotton thread and presto ...

These are so sweet and such a beautiful soft glow.  Can't wait to see how they look as it get darker.

All things simple makes for something happy.

 May your heart be blessed
with grace and happiness.

It's At It Again

My morning start will be delayed a bit today and I shouldn't be surprised now should I.  After all, its January, winter time and snow season.  I'm not into snow this year.   I'm always saying how quickly time is moving and here I am looking forward to green grass and flowers.

Time to slow down and appreciate.

Blessings to your day.
Safe travel to wherever you go.

Crochet Along Rows 5 - 8

Rows 5 thru 8 of the Crochet Along have been posted.  I have seen a few pictures of the first four rows.  Such beautiful colors are being used, and one in two toned of chocolate brown and ecru, just stunning!  Will post pictures shortly.

In two more rows (row 11) I'll be attaching cardinal red thread.  I'm going to use this doily for February and Valentine's Day.

I hope you're enjoying this as much as I am.

Splendid Saturday

Good Morning!  We're having another day fit for snowmen.  Frigid!  Although only snow showers are expected today.  We have quite enough snow to last for a while now so no accumulation, thank you!

I see that a few have already started the crochet along and one picture is posted
by Pam at Holloway Family Adventures.  The thread she is using looks absolutely beautiful and just look at the doily she just completed - gorgeous!

Being very lazy this morning, off now to make a cuppa, morning prayers and get that hook moving.   Oh yeah, got to get the washing machine waltzing ... geesh, that can wreck a moment now, can't it?

Have a splendid Saturday.
