The weather outside

IMG_2825IMG_2820well, its not really frightful but it has become cold dropping below freezing and just the perfect time to be working on these exceptionally warm and cozy blankets.  They are coming along nicely and so enjoyable to do.  They now are big enough that they provide warmth while working on them.  Hook in hand, covered in progress of these ghans, a cup of tea, and a Christmas holiday movie on the tv and all is well.

The wool eater is really taking shape.  This is the second one I have made and as I love mine so much I am very excited to get this finished as it is for a very special friend.  The Red Heart Holiday Cables Throw is really fun to work on.  It looks difficult but certainly not the case.  I'm on the last part now.  Its also a very warm blanket.  I am so glad that I attempted this.  There will certainly be other aran afghans to come.

Neither of the ghans are for Christmas so its an even better crochet as there's no deadline and no pressure.  Just pure crochet enjoyment!

And that's the news of this week in my corner of crocheting and of course, always on the lookout for new patterns.

Blessings and joy to your weekend.

  1. Both your afghans are beautiful. I want to make the RH Holiday Cables one for the foot of my bed (eventually). :-) Love the colors you are using in your wooleater. Enjoy your cool weather, it's 52 this morning with thick fog here. Have a great day and happy Friday! Heather

  2. Love the afghans...as always, you make such lovely projects. :)

Wishing you a lovely day...stay warm snuggling under those afghans and don't forget about the warm cup of tea, I'll bring over some cookies and we'll have a little crochet party...oh, I'll swing by and bring Sister Faith on the way, too. :)

    Blessings always my dearest friend.

  4. Oh yummy! Love both. I used to crochet, but haven't really done any for years. I've been peeking at crochet on Pinterest and am inspired. Think I just may pick up my crochet hook and get rollin'... Your plan is right up my alley... a Christmas movie and a nice cup of tea... :-)

    Thanks for your prayers.

    And, Merry Christmas!

  5. I like the Aran blanket. It is so pretty. Makes me think I need to put the thread away for awhile and see if I can find a pattern similar to yours. It is just beautiful. Blessings

  9. This certainly was not the right time of year for me to be taking a rug making class. Takes about an hour to finish 3 rows -- and there aren't just enough hours in the day for everything. I love that second blanket -- definitely looks complicated. Very pretty! Sending warm wishes your way, Tammy

  10. Love your afghans, Gloria. And thank you for the email the other day. I am happy to report I am not feeling so weepy today. Whew! That anesthesia sure does a number on me. Baby hasn't made his/her appearance yet. We're all just waiting and wondering. :)

  12. They both are beautiful. I love the colors of the first one and pretty cables on the second one. Crocheting, a cup of tea, and holiday movies sound like a fantastic pastime.
    Enjoy the Holiday Season!
