IMG_2769Black Friday and for us its Turkey Soup Day.  Had the pot simmering last night and finished it this morning for my favorite part of the Thanksgiving leftover ... turkey soup.  I'm ok with turkey but the soup ... mmmm, I love it!

Down sized a lot this year as far as the Christmas decorating goes.  No big tree this year, just a four foot in each of the bay windows, a new gift of angels and a few sprigs of this and a few sprigs of that here and there and just enough.  Must be the older age (lol).  Years past it was Christmas overload for sure.  I'm quite content this year with the less is more.

Didn't even think about venturing out to any store today, but we did go to see Santa and his elves arriving at a local tree farm.  They parchuted in.  It was quite fun although the grandpumpkin got a bit scared with all the cheering as each touched down.  It was quite impressive.

Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.  Have a lovely weekend.

  2. It all looks very pretty. Love those windows and your pretty curtains. Maybe it is an age thing because I am not putting up the big tree this year. I need to find a smaller one and if I can't, I will probably use the top of the big tree. I am doing ok with the holidays but still not quite as into it this year. Hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.

  3. I love your tree! :) The angels are lovely....they always make me smile and feel so loved when I see angels. :)

Awww I hope the sweet little Grandpumpkin is ok now. Such a sweetie. I know all that noise sometimes can be scary when you are so tiny. Such a wonderful time for him this season...getting older and being able to enjoy the blessed Christmas time more.

Wishing you and yours a most blessed day my dearest friend. :)

  6. That's two Christmas trees facing the street? How nice is that? My sister doesn't even want to put up her tree (I have 3 up as of now. Looking for one more. ha ha) but her grandkids are making her. Best wishes to you. Linda
