Its a beautiful, crisp fall day and looking forward to turning the oven on, especially to try out this fabulous sounding pork roast and dessert. Another recipe from Simply Recipes. The menu for tonight:

Apple Crisp (found this in my recipe folder, do not know where this came from!)
There's nothing like filling the house with scent of good cooking.
Apple Crisp
5 cups sliced peeled cooking apples
2 Tbl sugar or sugar substitute
1 Tsp lemon juick
1/2 Tsp apple pie spice
1/2 Cup regular rolled oats
1/4 Cup suagr or sugar substitute
3 Tbl all-purpose flour
1/4 Tsp applie pie spice
3 Tbl butter
Frozen light whipped dessert topping (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
For Filling: in large bowl combine apples, 2 tsp. sugar or substitute,lemon juice and 1/2 tsp of apple pie spice. Transfer applie mixture to baking dish.
For Topping: In medium bowl, combine oats, 1/4 cup sugar or substitute, flour and 1/4 tsp apple pie spice. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle topping over filing.
Bake 30-35 minutes or until apple tender and topping is golden brown.
Serve warm, if desired, top with whipped topping. Makes 8 1/2 cup servings.
