My First Time

Completed another round ripple in the colors of baby for a sweet little girl. And then I am going to do something I have never done before ... after 40 years of crocheting I am going to list this one for sale.
I have had people ask how much I want for specific items and usually I then just make them what they had asked about but I'm going to take the plunge and see what happens.

If anyone has any suggestions, etc., I would greatly appreciate any input.
Off to write up a description. This could be exciting!

  3. What a lucky little baby girl! I'm not good at selling things. It always seems like I want to charge too much, even though I know how much time I put into the item. A couple of times, when asked how much they owed for certain items, I've put the question back in their court and asked how much they think it's worth. I've gotten lucky and gotten paid WAY more than I would've asked. :)

  5. The colours you've chosen are so fetching together. It's great to have found a fellow crocheter out in the world of blogger - I thought sometimes I was the only one still partaking!

  6. That is a very lovely baby blanket, I really love the color combinations. Where will you sell this? On Etsy, Artfire or where? I sell on both.

Good luck and feel free to ask me anything in particular!

  8. Lovely colors! I always end up giving mine away! But if I do make one to sell, I would ask at least $50. Time and yarn.

  9. You do beautiful work. If people are asking to buy your items, I wouldn't be shy about offering things for sale.

For me I find it a little difficult to figure the price with all the labor involved and have the item still be affordable for people to purchase. I do a basic retail mark up, which is usually double what you pay for materials/goods and then I figure in a 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 dollar amount for my labor depending on the item.

Good luck, may this be the start of a little return on all your time.

  10. Beautiful baby afghan, Gloria! I'm sure you won't have any problem selling it...your work is exceptional!

I never seem to be able to sell my stuff because on the rare occasion somebody does want to buy something from me, I give it to them. LOL

  11. Best of luck to you with selling your wonderful crocheted doilies. This one is so beautiful. I love geraniums, too! They are so easy to grow. Love that picture of the white ones sitting on the windowsill -- so lovely! Have a fabulous day. Best wishes, Tammy

  13. I love the pattern. I don't know about multi-colored afghans. For solid color ones, I usually charge $10 a skein. Can you tell me where you got the pattern?
