Granny Project Update

The amount of cut off tails has grown ... actually doubled in size. So you know what that means! ... the first 28 squares are done!

I don't usually hold onto the cut off tails, must be the wonderful color mix as I love these. Wish I could think of something to do with them. Can you think of anything? I may just have to keep getting larger bowls and continue tossing in the cutoffs. Goodness, the crochet addiction is also growing.

Anyway ...

here they are, all 28 of them.

With the number of skeins I had I did 14 color variations so I could do 2 of each.

Now onto the other granny pattern, also for 28 of them, same color variations.

  1. Very vibrant..I made a hexy one a year or two back..I got tired of those things after a while. what is your secret for attachment? I had a real hard time with that..and they are not secure..I lost interest in it for a while, and think about picking it back up again and working seriously on the connecting. The ends look lovely in the bowl for now..no immediate idea comes to mind.

  2. Oooooh - bright and colorful.

Here's an idea for the ends: fill up the base of a glass lamp with them. I have a lamp with little balls of yarn - cute. :)

  3. Faith, when I join them I will be doing a whip stitch going through only one loop of a stitch on either square. I really like how that joins and looks. I did that on the purple and white afghan a few weeks ago. And Debi, what a really cute idea. On the lookout now for a glass bottomed lamp. Thanks!

  5. Wow Glor! I love those color combos that you have going on there! Thanks for reading my blog and on the bibs that I made I used Red Heart Lustersheen. The pattern is pretty easy to do and I love it.

  7. Those squares look great. I love the black borders. Very striking. I was trying to think of something to do with them also - don't know if you do amigurumi or plush toys (plushies) because you could use those pieces as stuffing instead of the polyester fiber fill that we noremally use, only then you'd not be able to see the colors, but it's better than tossing them out. If I can think of anything else, I'll let you know.
    Happy Mother's Day tomorrow :-)
