A dear friend and I went together to the quilt meeting. Talk about treasures ... she's a one of a kind type friend. She hears what you say, she pays attention. She is always doing the nicest things, she knows how to give from and touch the heart. My love of lilacs, the memories they hold, she knew ... well, when I got to her house there waiting for me was the most incredible bunch of lilacs. We left them on her steps until we got back and here they are in my kitchen, taking up most of the island. When I come downstairs to the kitchen I get their scent from less then half way down the stairs. The window opened, the breeze taking the scent throughout the house. A trip down memory lane, back some fifty years ago. I just wrote of this and here it is, now. What a treasure, my friend, for sure. Priceless.
I am blessed.
Thank you.
I love lilacs too. I wish mine would hurry up and get big.

ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful flowers! How very thoughtful of your friend to give you such a lovely gift. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's always nice to have a friend who listens and cares. They truly are a gift from God.
Blessings to you and yours always. :)
How beautiful those lilacs are, and what a wonderful friend you have!
ReplyDeleteThey are huge!! what a lovely gift. Enjoy
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother always smelled of lilac talcum powder and just seeing these reminded me of her. Thank you for that lovely reminder of such a special person. You're so lucky to have such a special friend.
ReplyDeleteI can almost smell the lilacs just looking at them! Mine are not quite to spring yet. But buds are forming.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the quilt guild, and I think you should join and enjoy! Just think of the treasures you'd make, in addition to the crochet you already do!
Beautiful lilacs and lovely time spent with a friend. The Textile Association that I am a member of is having their quilt and fiber show next week. I was supposed to enter some things but have an issue with commitments and deadlines. HA! I like to create just for fun. Not because I have to. Hope you are having a wonderful day. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
ReplyDeleteI love lilacs too. Planted a sapling bush two years ago that finally bloomed this year. Two very tiny bunches on top of this little shrub that is all of a foot and a half tall, LOL.
