I love these little snow flakes. Clara Clara's Crochet Room and Molly crocheting my best with my worsted have been crocheting up a storm ... snow storm that is. They have been making snow. I couldn't resist and had to jump in and add to the snow making. So far one done in yarn, the other in size 3 thread and couldn't wait to put them here. There will be more that's for sure. Very easy, very quick and just so adorable. Clara has the pattern site on her blog.
My other treasure doesn't have anything to do with crochet, but its a winner in my book. I read the neatest tip the other day and just have to share. I iron, don't really mind it, have always done it, I iron lots of things including tablecloths which are my least favorite. Actually I think they are a royal pain in the neck. Many of you may know this but if there's anyone out there besides me who didn't you will love this. In taking out one of my Christmas red tablecloths, which was quite wrinkled, I was going to get the ironing board out when I remembered ... put the cloth in the dryer with a wet towel for 10 minutes. So I did. Wrinkle free and table ready. Wowie, I was delighted! (I had a round 70 inch cloth and used a dish towel.) To me this is a definite treasure. What a time saver. Then, being so smart, I thought I would try one of those red store bought ribbons which I had just taken out, crumpled up ... now a perfect bow. Looked better then brand new. I am in heaven.
I love those snowflakes. I want to make mini snowflakes for my little tree. Instead, I'm making gifts.
ReplyDeleteYes, I knew that dryer trick. I did it all the time when I had a dryer. It's great isn't it.
Great trick! Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteI've also just laid it out on the table and sprayed it with a little water. Let it set for a while, and it's ready to go.
A treasure is a treasure...thank you for the tidbit. I'm odd, but like the smell of clothes when you iron. I don't do it often, but occasionally will press something out..the snowflakes are darling....and I bet they look ever so on the tree....
ReplyDeleteWow that is a great tip i will be remembering that one i hate ironing to. I love the snowflakes so cute. Dee x
ReplyDeleteHi, and thanks for mentioning my blog and my snowflakes, I also think I can say thanks for Clara. If anybody has time pop on over to her new post about her little animals and her colored snowflakes. They are precious. Thanks from me too.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Molly
I'm going to try those snowflakes too - they are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteI almost never iron, but I remember when I was a young child growing up in Germany (before my family had washers and dryers) and everything got hung on the clothes line...everything, I mean, everything got ironed. I remember watching my mom iron underwear, hankies, bed linens....you name it. Taking clothes from the clothes line, especially when it's frozen stiff - does not for soft material make ;-)
Hi Glor! Kayla here from Crafty Kayla. Thanks for following and posting my button! I love your blog! I'm not very good at crocheting but you have some really cute projects! I'm working on button options for you and I'll email them to you tomorrow! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, toobad I don't have a dryer. So, to ironing board I go. ugh.
ReplyDeleteThe snowflakes are so pretty, well done!
oops, excuse my writing. Need my coffee....:)
ReplyDeleteWhat adorable snowflakes! And oh yes, the dryer is wonderful for a quick tumble to get rid of wrinkles (in fabric, that is!)
ReplyDeleteLove the snowflakes, Gloria! Off to find the pattern. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thanks for the mention for both me and Molly. The snowflakes had to be shared because they really are fun to make and the results are instant! I do the dryer trick myself. It really comes in handy when at the last moment you notice that the shirt you want to wear that you had previously ironed and hung up still has a few wrinkles in it--pop in the dryer with a damp hand towel and you look fabulous! This is a great idea and I think you ought to adopt the "tips" on your blog as a feature. I know I'd appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteThese are GREAT!
