With Mixed Emotion

Proudly, I now wear my pin.

One can pray for our soldiers, pray for their families,
but like everything else until you are smack dab in the middle you cannot
really relate.  Its a roller coaster for sure, these amazing young men that
stood before us.

You just want to burst with pride and yet at the same time burst with tears.
                            There is no middle road.

God bless and protect.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

  4. I saw the pin, and started to cry..for some odd reason I get it on some level even though I've not experienced, but I feel it. You are a proud Mama, as you should be, for you have a strong and brave son who wants to protect serve his country, God Bless and protect him, and all of them. I wish I could hug you in person..but I will send a big one to you..you know where I am if you need me..I'm right here with you.

  5. I don't have a relative in the military but I am closely connected. I cry for those lost, those who lost someone, even though I don't know them.

There is a pic going around on the internet of a woman who is laying on a mattress below her husband who is in his casket. She is playing his favorite music on a laptop. It's her last night to be next to him. I'm teared up now just seeing it in my mind. It's a very hard thing.

May he be safe and sound and come back home to you whole. I have the utmost respect for him.

  6. May he always be blessed by God
May angles clear the paths he may trod
May only joy and happiness fill his days
May he know of our gratitude in many ways

We are all so thankful for your son and all the others who serve to protect our great country every day. Bless them one and all.

    Blessings always

  7. My prayers are with all the servicemen. My grand-nephew just returned from Afghanistan and it's very stressful to think of any of them over there fighting but when it's one of your own it does make you even more anxious for them. Extra prayers for your loved one.

  8. Will be thinking of you Glor and will pray God's protection for your son. My nephew, my sister's oldest, is scheduled to go to Afghanistan in November. I know she is dealing with the same emotions as you. Proud, but still having the motherly concern. God Bless our Troops and may they all come home safely.

  16. Gloria, I truely understand how you feel. My son-in-law is in the Air Force. He has done one tour in Iraq and now heads to the Middle East with his family in the Spring. God Bless them and their families. They do us proud and need our blessings.
Thanks for your blog, I thoroughly enjoy your site and the doily patterns. I read your blog daily. I recently retired from teaching after 30 years and now have time to crochet and surf the web. See you tomorrow.
