Make yourself familiar
with the angels, and behold them frequently in spirit; for without being seen they are present with you.

With Mixed Emotion
Proudly, I now wear my pin.
One can pray for our soldiers, pray for their families,
but like everything else until you are smack dab in the middle you cannot
really relate. Its a roller coaster for sure, these amazing young men that
stood before us.
You just want to burst with pride and yet at the same time burst with tears.
There is no middle road.
I'm here if you need me.... Have you found a local BSM chapter? I cried every day when Josh was deployed.... Aug 2007-June 2008 on my blog..... Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
I saw the pin, and started to cry..for some odd reason I get it on some level even though I've not experienced, but I feel it. You are a proud Mama, as you should be, for you have a strong and brave son who wants to protect serve his country, God Bless and protect him, and all of them. I wish I could hug you in person..but I will send a big one to you..you know where I am if you need me..I'm right here with you.
I don't have a relative in the military but I am closely connected. I cry for those lost, those who lost someone, even though I don't know them.
There is a pic going around on the internet of a woman who is laying on a mattress below her husband who is in his casket. She is playing his favorite music on a laptop. It's her last night to be next to him. I'm teared up now just seeing it in my mind. It's a very hard thing.
May he be safe and sound and come back home to you whole. I have the utmost respect for him. xoxox
May he always be blessed by God May angles clear the paths he may trod May only joy and happiness fill his days May he know of our gratitude in many ways
We are all so thankful for your son and all the others who serve to protect our great country every day. Bless them one and all.
My prayers are with all the servicemen. My grand-nephew just returned from Afghanistan and it's very stressful to think of any of them over there fighting but when it's one of your own it does make you even more anxious for them. Extra prayers for your loved one.
Will be thinking of you Glor and will pray God's protection for your son. My nephew, my sister's oldest, is scheduled to go to Afghanistan in November. I know she is dealing with the same emotions as you. Proud, but still having the motherly concern. God Bless our Troops and may they all come home safely.
We need to do more for those brave young men and women who put their lives on the line for the rest of us...They deserve MORE! God bless them one and all and their families too!
Gloria, I truely understand how you feel. My son-in-law is in the Air Force. He has done one tour in Iraq and now heads to the Middle East with his family in the Spring. God Bless them and their families. They do us proud and need our blessings. Thanks for your blog, I thoroughly enjoy your site and the doily patterns. I read your blog daily. I recently retired from teaching after 30 years and now have time to crochet and surf the web. See you tomorrow.
Gloria, God bless your son and your family. I am so thankful for those who have served and serve now to keep our country free and safe. Prayers for his safety and for you and all his family while he is away.
Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen's Prayer for Spiritual Adoption
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I love you very much. I beg you to spare the life of the preborn child that I have spiritually adopted who is in danger of abortion.
Glory of The Season
Almighty God, Father of all nations, For freedom you have set us free in Christ Jesus. We praise you and bless you for the gift of religious liberty, The foundation of human rights, justice, and the common good. Grant to our leaders the wisdom to protect and promote our liberties; By your grace may we have the courage to defend them, For ourselves and for all those who live in this blessed land. We ask this through the intercession of Mary Immaculate, our patroness, And in the name of your Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, In the unity of the Holy Spirit, With whom you live and reign, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Today is special ...
Today is God's gift to you, how you use it is your gift to God
Before the Threshold of My Day
I've much to do today, dear Lord, But let me kneel a bit Before the threshold of my day That I may enter it With mind serene and heart made fresh with fragrant heavenly dew. That every moment of the day I'll be reflecting you.
I love, love, love to crochet! Always looking for patterns, new threads, and yarn and to share the craft with others. An avid reader, enjoy cooking and finding new recipes and love laughter!
You and your precious loved ones are in my prayers, too, Glor.
