Merry Christmas

I love saying Merry Christmas, I love hearing it.  And it seems this year people are saying it more.  The young man at the bank yesterday loudly proclaimed it as we were leaving.  It reminded me of years gone by.  It was very comforting, very nice.  Just two words that lifted the heart, that filled the air with the anticipation of the joy that we will celebrate in a few days.

Tidings of Comfort and Joy ...
Merry Christmas

  1. I think it's almost as if people are afraid to say it, worried they might offend somebody.. What a shame that is, isn't it, when you wish you could see and hear such spirit and good will towards others ALL year 'round??! If you find you're hearing it more often, then WONDERFUL!!! That's a very good thing I think! ~tina

  7. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Gloria!

I so agree with you. Things have gotten so "politically correct" any more that the warm fuzzies have been taken away from just about everything. Why somebody should be offended at being told "Merry Christmas" is beyond me. Even if they don't celebrate Christmas for what it is, surely they can still have a "Merry Christmas" as in "Have a nice (Christmas) day".

  8. Exactly! I prefer Merry Christmas over Happy Holidays, even though if you dissect the word Holidays - it's holy days and that's not all bad either :-)

    Merry Christmas!

  9. I actually read a news story this morning that said "Merry Christmas" is winning out over "Happy Holidays." I think that in itself is a GREAT Christmas present!!!
