The Best of Both Worlds

I'm a crochet addict, no doubt about it.  And my favorites to crochet are doilies and afghans of all sizes and types.  So, having seen what Sarah of Sarah's Sweethearts has recently completed I have found my next project for the hook.  A doily~ghan!  Ohhhhh, it can't get any better then this.

Sarah made this for her little daughter.  Is this just absolutely beautiful?   I love everything about this and will boldly proclaim that I am going to do the same colors as well.  An I hook was used.  This is just so striking and so soft looking.  Perfect for a little girl.

The pattern used is by Denise Augostine called Summer Splendor.  Where to get the pattern can be found on Sarah's blog.

My round ripple blankets are coming down the home stretch and I will be reaching into my stash for pink and white very soon.  I was thinking a quick trip to Michaels but I may even have a green of this shade ... going to check.

  5. I, too, fell in love with this doily-ghan when I saw it the other day. I have another baby afghan to finish before I can commit to starting a new one, but this is sooooo tempting! Great choice, Glor!

  6. That IS gorgeous. I purchased a book of doily patterns with the thought that I would do just this with one but haven't gotten around to it yet. This is VERY inspiring. Can't wait to see yours.

  8. I also saw this on her blog and absolutely fell in love with it. I am on row 16 of my doily~ghan. Also using the same colors because they are so beautiful together and so girly. The pattern is so well written and so easy to follow. I always love that. I will be showing a picture when mine is finished.
I hope you will post when you have began your dolly~ghan.
